Just Back From: Bangkok, Thailand

Known for ornate shrines and a vibrant city life, Thailand’s capital is an experience unlike any other. The city welcomes visitors from all over the world and it’s not hard to imagine why. HEBS Digital’s SEO team member, Iana Rivera, recently escaped to the legendary city and came back with insights on everything you need to know.

 

What did you love most about this city?

The street food scene. Bangkok thrives on delicious, good quality street food, which you can get at all hours of the day or night.

 

Where would you take a first-timer in this city?

I would take a first-timer out for cocktails at the Sky Bar, located on the 63rd floor of the lebua at State Tower. It’s the best place to get an absolutely stunning, unobstructed, panoramic view of Bangkok.

 

What is one thing that a first-timer must do in this city?

Take a day tour to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya (also known as Ayutthaya). There are plenty of tour operators that will take you around to see the historic city, which sits just 50 miles north of Bangkok and is home to ancient temples. Some are in ruins but many are still intact after 1000+ years.

 

What is your favorite dish from here, and where might we find it?

It’s hard to pick just one dish because everything I tried was absolutely delicious, but you definitely can’t go wrong with anything cooked in Thai green curry. It can be found all over Thailand!

 

Tell us about the locals.

Thailand is known as “the land of smiles” and it lives up to the name. The locals are all very friendly, respectful and best of all always smiling.

 

What is something they have in this city that you wish you had at home?

A wide variety of late-night street food.

 

What are five words that describe this city?

Vibrant, bustling, fun, exotic, (mostly) cheap.
